9 Tips for 360° Reviews w/ eWorkbooks Engaging Screenagers
Have you ever been part of a given/received feedback on 360° review?

A major challenge for 360° reviews is what I call the “revenge factor” where one person wants to “get back at another’ for less than favorable feedback. (junk engagement)
The 360° review process can be one the biggest game changers for improving a business if you can do it properly, but we’ve seen this whole environment cause much more damage than to good if not done well.
As I wrote yesterday, I will describe how some of my SME (small and medium enterprise) clients have used eWorkbooksfor inexpensive 360° review feedback.

When I worked in Human Resources we struggled with finding ways to have peers give feedback, way back then we tried several different methods didn’t have the results we wanted.
Using eWorkbooks (Google Forms with the training slides as well as interactive questions, curating links and tasks, example images and videos, etc. which trainees complete using their mobile devices) for interactive learning.
When trainees use eWorkbooks as I taught, they would get their review submissions sent to their inbox so they could be reminded of their sharing and their own Moments of Growth(optimal engagement)
As I’ve written them before, I started using eWorkbooks in the classroom for learning and found eWorkbooks were easily adapted for giving peer feedback.

As we have been using eWorkbooks for peer feedback for a while, we have developed some best practices to share.
Tip 1: Let colleagues use eWorkbooks to give peer feedback using their mobile devices.
Tip 2: Use an outside rep/group to handle this for small companies (without a full time HR person) so you can build and maintain trust within your team.
Tip 3: Adopt and modify your current evaluation systems and call them “eWorkbooks” as this has shown  to keep them important and yet less stressful. Use the Chrome Extension called Doc to Form for quick adoption.
Tip 4: Remind them they won’t know who was giving the feedback, but HR (outside rep) knows who gave it and what they wrote. (optimal engagement)
Tip 5: Train staff, before they evaluate other staff, so they will focus their feedback on future performance improvement and not past actions.
Tip 6: Stop inappropriate feedback, and have HR (or outside rep) just hold it back from the staff member to whom it was aimed, and have a quick meeting with the submitter to explain what is appropriate feedback.
Tip 7: Include feedback mechanisms everywhere possible for customers, vendors, delivery persons, etc.
Tip 8: Add feedback systems in everything customers touch like, eBrochures and eMenus, and then make sure you can monitor engagement so you can give credit to the staff member who initiated the engagement.
Tip 9: Remember, what gets measured gets improved.
End:
I’ve seen jumps in several of my clients’ company effectiveness when they have adopted 360° review.

Who Moved My Cheese?: An Amazing Way to Deal with Change in Your Work and in Your Life
As staff members can pressure colleagues in different ways than management, this review system has great influence on performance.
By using a free technology in a slightly different (add review questions to an eWorkbook) way you can change your organization’s direction in a great way and create awesome productive improvement.
Wouldn’t it be great to build up your Engaging Screenagers so they will perform their jobs better?
